Obviously

So… yesterday we started our year by going kayaking in an alligator-infested bayou. 🐊

Because obviously, that felt like a calm and peaceful choice.

Now, if you’ve read my posts before, you know I’m a planner by nature—and also not exactly the calmest person when I’m scared or when my nervous system is activated. So what better way to test that than kayaking through gator territory?

To make it even better, I was sharing a kayak with a teenage boy who confidently announced, “There’s no danger anywhere,” while my sons were extremely hyped and living their best lives.

Lesson learned:

Next time I go kayaking, I’m getting my own kayak. I will not be sharing with anyone. Not because I’m a control freak…

Okay, maybe a little 😆

But mostly because I like to be in control of my surroundings when I’m already uncomfortable.
